Big day out

Saturday 24 June 2017 - Set off early (I mean early) for the Arezzo market. The piazza at Arezzo was back to it's pretty self, the scaffolding from the jousting having been completely cleared. Had coffee there before heading to the market.

The market was interesting but it's for the locals, not the tourists. So there's lots of cheap clothing and very practical kitchen stuff. No ceramics at all. And nothing you'd call gift-shoppy.

Then it's off to Cortona.

Q: How many Kiwis does it take to feed a parking meter. A: About 6 and 1 to take the photo.

Here's  a view walking up from the car park.

And this view is from where we had lunch.

The Etruscan museum here was a very interesting visit. This view is from there.

We had a leisurely time here, but it was very hot. Had to stop for beers. And enjoyed a very good dinner before heading home. Time to reflect on this stark contrast to the classical versions of Bacchus I've been seeing.
