Banquet at Borro

Sunday 18 June 2017 - My notes go like this, "slept in, had breakfast, took cup of tea down to pool where others were dozing, sunning, and swimming".

Just before midday though, we all rallied in smart attire to go to the little medieval village of Borro, and the Osteria del Borro for lunch.
We know the herbs and veges will be fresh if they're from this garden just beside the restaurant.
When I went to socialise down the opposite end of the table from where I was sitting, some wag must have picked up my camera and used it to take photos of me deep in conversation. Plenty of Italian gestures, but I have no recollection of what I was talking about (it was grappa in that glass).
Nothing like a walk after a good lunch (and it was outstanding), so we explored the small village. Here's a mention from Tripadvisor.

"The petite village packs a big visual punch. Il Borro is a borgo, a medieval village with a tight grouping of a few houses cuddled up along narrow pedestrian lanes. Formally part of the town of San Giustino Valdarno, Borro was built in the Middle Ages but purchased by the famed Ferragamo family in 1993. Following exacting renovations on the stone houses as well as the prominent villa, the hamlet has returned to its original aspect and is a delightful place to visit."
It was small, but picture postcard perfect. Several shops seemed to interest the women in our group.
